Workout Wednesday: Calf Raises with Your Baby
If you are looking to slim and tone your legs, start from the bottom up with calf raises. This easy exercise not only helps to tone your lower legs, but it will also help to increase your strength and stamina when performing aerobic exercise (such as walking or jogging).
To get started, wear your baby using your favorite baby carrier with baby facing out (older baby) or facing in towards you (younger baby). Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Slowly rise up onto the balls of your feet, lifting your heels off of the ground. Then slowly lower heels back down. Repeat for 15 repetitions and perform 3 sets.
Note: To further challenge yourself, you can perform this exercise on the edge of a stair, dropping your heels off the edge. Only do this is you have a banister to hold onto for balance.
